On September 2, the U.S. Court of Appeals upheld the reversal of the USDA's approval of Roundup Ready herbicide-tolerant, genetically engineered alfalfa.
The Court of Appeals agreed with a lower court that there was too great an impact from inevitable contamination of GE alfalfa on non GE crops.
This is of great importance to horse owners, as GE alfalfa would not have been labeled as GE and would be sold as simply "alfalfa" for horses.
No one knows the long term effects of Roundup Ready GE foods in our food supply.
